Where to find Irish language classes for adults

Classes and certifications #

Many of the organizations and institutions listed below organise both in-person and online classes, and many also organise classes in various locations throughout the country, other than the county in which they are based.

Some of the courses offer cetification and diplomas in the language, or help prepare learners for the TEG (Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge). The TEG qualification is very useful for those who want to systematically improve their language skills or for those who are looking to teach Irish in the future.

If you’re looking for classes or courses within a Gaeltacht or a town serving a Gaeltacht, it is a good idea to consult with the language planning officer in that area for recommendations regarding local language classes.

The Irish language centres around the country usually run classes- the main ones are included below but the others often run classes from time to time.

Have a browse through our business directory also, using the “Ranganna Gaeilge” filter, and you’ll see the businesses that have registered with us and who run Irish language classes. Most would already be included below.
