Amendment to the Official Languages Act

Irish-language rights groups had been struggling for some time with difficulties when trying to access state services in the Gaeltacht areas and also in other places. The bill provides a national plan. As a result of the bill, the various departments will recognize ‘an síneadh fada’ and Irish-language addresses.
